During Induction Day, approximately 1,200 new midshipmen begin four years of training and education at the Naval Academy.

During Induction Day, approximately 1,200 new midshipmen join the Brigade of Midshipmen and begin four years of training and education at the Naval Academy. Upon graduation, these midshipmen will be commissioned as Navy ensigns or Marine Corps second lieutenants, and they serve on active duty for a minimum of five years.
