Air Force Reserve

New and re-enlisting reservists take the Oath of Enlistment on “Air Force Reserve Night” at an Atlanta Braves baseball game. After taking the oath, a recruit’s ship date varies depending on his or her job assignment. Instead of shipping directly to Basic Military Training (BMT), some recruits will enter the Delayed Entry Program (DEP). Through this program, recruits known as “Deppers” will ship to BMT at a later date. The DEP is an option for high school seniors who plan to enter the Military upon graduation.
