Meet the Nuclear Engineering Officers on the USS Nimitz as they discuss their daily responsibilities aboard a Navy aircraft carrier. The Nimitz has nearly 6,000 servicemembers and 60 aircraft. Current college undergraduates can enroll in the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program to become naval nuclear engineers. Those who already possess undergraduate degrees can attend the Navy’s Officer Candidate School and nuclear propulsion advanced training.
