Following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Army National Guard helped minimize damage to the Gulf Coast.

Following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Army National Guard helped minimize damage to the Gulf Coast. Soldiers flew Blackhawk helicopters and dropped sandbags into the area to help build and maintain barriers that were used to help keep the oil from reaching the shore.
