Chaplain Candidates - Transcript

Speaker 1: I'm interested in going into the Air Force Reserve chaplaincy, because I want to continue serving my country while I'm serving the Lord.

Speaker 2: I think the most rewarding part of being a chaplain is seeing families held together, and airmen being able to do their jobs, with the support of the chaplaincy.

Speaker 3: The most rewarding part of being a reserve chaplain is the amount of trust that the Air Force has placed in me to be able to serve and ensure that those people who are in the Military get to worship in their religion, whatever it is that they choose to worship.

Speaker 4: For me, the most rewarding part of being a chaplain would have to be just being there for the airmen.

Speaker 5: I'm interested in the Air Force Reserve chaplaincy because I'm passionate about the sacrifice that our service members and their families make. They inspire me with the level of sacrifice that they're willing to make all throughout their lives.

Speaker 6: In this chaplain candidate program, my mind has been opened so much, from extending my thinking outside of my denomination. Seeing the great things that other people have to offer.

Speaker 7: I think the most rewarding part about being a chaplain is actually knowing that I'm making a difference, and that I'm able to help airmen.

Speaker 1: I've been on the road enough times to understand the hardships that constant TWIs and deployments can have on individuals, their faith, and their families. And I feel compelled to help carry that burden with others.

Speaker 2: Pride in my nation, and a love for God. Those two together help me fit well within this uniform, and wearing the cross on my chest someday as an Air Force chaplain.

Speaker 3: As a woman, I think that it's important to be able to support the female airmen, as well as the male airmen. But to be able to give a different perspective on that, that only a woman can bring.

Speaker 1: I think it's important for me to enter the chaplaincy in the Military, because I feel this is what God has called, and equipped me to do. It's very rewarding to be able to come together as a team with my flight mates to finish this program well.
