Introduction to Senior & Junior Military Colleges - Transcript

Speaker One: It was something I'd never tried before. It was a good opportunity, I took advantage of it, and I love it.

Speaker Two: I love the atmosphere here. I love seeing all the cadets in uniform, it was just, it was a motivating experience.

Speaker Three: Going this route, going to the school, getting the education, it's enabled me to really fulfill my ambitions in life.

Speaker Four: I find cadets are attracted to seeing the military college for a couple of primary reasons. They want to become a commissioned officer, and they also want to have a college experience.

Speaker Five: Even though some people think that it's divided, because you have the military school atmosphere, and a civilian atmosphere, when it comes to classes and clubs, we're actually pretty interconnected.

Speaker Six: You sit out in the stands, and being able to look up and just see 85,000 plus people, the crowd's just roaring, it's just amazing.

Speaker Seven: Most of the ROTC programs at American universities are four year programs. The military junior college is a unique institution in that we frontload all the military training, and actually commission them after their sophomore year.

Speaker Eight: They can take you from not knowing anything, and in two years they can turn you into an officer. I've seen the improvement that I've personally made just in one year.

Speaker One: One of the main reasons I came here was the ECP program, the Early Commissioning Program. The Early Commissioning Program is a program where I will be a Lieutenant in two years of schooling. And then I go to another college for two more years to get my bachelor's degree, and you get to decide after that whether you want to go active, reserve, or National Guard.

Speaker Nine: You get the training, you get experience not only in the military, but just as a leader that you could use in the civilian world. You're more disciplined, you're more organized. You're better in front of people.

Speaker Ten: The Core sets you up to succeed in whatever your life goals are. Cadets here have gone on to be generals, to running multi-million dollar organizations in the civilian sector.

Speaker Eleven: CEOs, senior business officials, senior government officials, the sky's the limit on what they can achieve.
