Each year the Military completes hundreds of construction projects. Construction, Building and Extraction enlisted personnel prepare land, dig foundations and construct buildings for airfields, roads, dams and more. This work is very physically demanding and requires the use of heavy equipment and power tools to build the backbone of the Military.
Possible Responsibilities
- Draw maps, charts and blueprints
- Install wiring and plumbing in new and renovated structures
- Operate heavy construction machinery
- Raise wood framing for buildings
- Spread asphalt and concrete
- Build permanent and temporary structures
Helpful Attributes
Useful school subjects include mathematics, science and mechanics. Helpful attributes include:
- Ability to read blueprints or interest in learning to do so
- Ability to use hand tools
- Preference for physical work
- Interest in power tools and heavy equipment
