The definition of band is a group of people with the same common goal. The band is comprised of 50 enlisted musicians

Everyone is a rifleman first. Doesn't matter if you're a musician, if you're a helicopter mechanic, if you're a computer programmer. We go through marine combat training just like everybody else to maintain marine status.
Music is my way of communication, my way of expressing myself. I also love to communicate with folks and make them feel good, feel happy, make them sing, make them proud, make them feel good about themselves, remind them of who they are where they came from.
Music in the Marine Corps, what that means to me is, when you hear a marine band.. that you will stand up a little straighter…. you will stand up a little taller…. you will be proud of who you are, and it will bring out the best in people.
