Overview
Pest control specialists use their expertise to protect military members and their families from diseases borne of insects. They conduct assessments and determine what pest management actions are needed to control and prevent infestations in military facilities and the surrounding environment. They interact with other military medical providers and follow environmental compliance guidelines.
Military Training
All enlisted service members complete basic military training which includes time spent in a classroom and in the field and covers tactical and survival skills physical training military life and customs and weapons training. Job training for pest control specialists consists of classroom and on-the-job instruction. Training content may include:
- Identification and mitigation of health hazards
- Pest control procedures and equipment
