HR managers administer personnel programs by developing and coordinating policies and programs that support service members. They develop plans for strength accounting and job assignment, performance evaluation and promotions, training, awards, equal opportunity, discipline, and discharge of personnel. They may also assist with programs such as drug and alcohol abuse and control, overseas duty support, family support, recreation, and physical fitness. HR managers may specialize in one function such as manpower or equal employment opportunity (EEO) support.

Financial managers direct and coordinate financial management functions and serve as advisers to leadership on all matters pertaining to programming/budgeting, finance and accounting and cost analysis. They perform managerial operations, including the establishment of performance standards and priorities for personnel and security requirements for safeguarding assets. They are responsible for the management of financial operations and for providing advice on effective use and redistribution of resources within fund limitations.

Contracts specialists negotiate, procure and process administrative actions necessary to acquire contracted resources. They understand pricing techniques, market trends and supply sources of goods and services the Military needs to operate. Contracts specialists serve as business advisors, buyers and administrators to support all functions of procurement actions.
